Newell Sports Group — fighter document verification

This notice covers the mobile numbers used by Newell Sports Group's document verification programme. It sits alongside our general privacy policy and, for text messaging, takes precedence over it.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.

What we collect

Your mobile telephone number. A record that a verification code was sent to it, and when. Whether you have asked us to stop sending them.

We do not record the content of your replies beyond the standard keywords (STOP, HELP, START), and no medical information is ever sent by text or held against your number.

Why we hold it

Solely to send you a one-time verification code so you can upload documents required by a state athletic commission. The number is not used for marketing, is not added to any mailing list, and is not used to profile you.

Who it reaches

Newell Sports Group operations staff handling the relevant bout, and our messaging provider, which transmits the message on our behalf and acts only on our instructions. Nobody else. It is not sold, rented, traded or shared for any marketing purpose.

How long we keep it

For as long as we need your contact details for the bouts you are involved in, and then in line with our document retention policy. Contact details are deleted when a card's records are disposed of; a record that a document was filed is kept, because it is the compliance record we are required to hold.

Your choices

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving codes. Ask us to delete your mobile number, using the contact below. Ask us what we hold about you.

Stopping messages means the two-part upload check cannot be completed, so we will need to collect your documents another way. It does not affect your licensing.
